How to combine multiple PDF files into one

Merging PDFs is a task that comes up across almost every profession: combining a cover letter and resume for a job application, joining scanned pages of a multi-page document, assembling a report from separately-created sections, or packaging supporting documents alongside a main contract. PDFTask's Merge PDF tool combines any number of PDF files into a single document in seconds.

Your files stay on your device

The entire merge operation runs locally in your browser using PDF-lib, a JavaScript library that manipulates PDF files directly. Your files are never uploaded to any server, which matters when combining sensitive documents like contracts, financial records, or medical documents.

How to merge your PDFs

  1. Drop your PDF files onto the upload area, or click to select them. Add as many as you need.
  2. Files will be merged in the order they appear in the list.
  3. Remove any files added by mistake using the remove button next to each file name.
  4. Click Merge & download PDF to combine and download your document.

After merging, you can further edit the combined document using the PDF Editor — adding page numbers, signatures, or annotations to the final document. To extract pages back out as images, use PDF to JPG.
